In the new issue of Public Sector Economics Tihana Škrinjarić, in the article Introducing a composite indicator of cyclical systemic risk in Croatia: possibilities and limitations, deals with several approaches to constructing a composite indicator of cyclical systemic risk accumulation with a specific focus on Croatia. Petra Đurman, Anamarija Musa and Tereza Rogić Lugarić, in the article The characteristics and effects of public participation in Croatian e-consultations in fiscal matters, analyse the implementation of electronic public consultations conducted by the Croatian Ministry of Finance in three-year period with a purpose to investigate the level and the type of citizens’ interest in fiscal policy and to assess the influence of the interested public on the regulation of fiscal policy.
Ivana Dobrotić and Teo Matković explore the interconnection of different decentralisation regimes and territorial inequalities in the provision of social services in the article Understanding territorial inequalities in decentralised welfare systems: early childhood education and care system expansion in Croatia.
Ivana Velkovska and Borce Trenovski explore whether economic growth or social expenditure more effectively decreases poverty and income inequality in the European Union. To answer this question, authors use a Panel VAR model for 2010-19, using a sample of 28 European member states plus Norway and Iceland.
