The Hanžeković Foundation announces a competition for the best academic papers in 2025.

The Foundation invites authors to submit theoretical, empirical and policy-oriented papers in the field of public sector economics. The entries can analyse the role and functioning of the public sector at macroeconomic, sectoral and microeconomic levels, in both advanced and emerging market economies. Particularly welcome are papers providing new perspectives, assessments, conclusions, and knowledge.

The qualities looked for are analytical rigour, creativity, originality, and technical proficiency. The entrants’ age will be considered in the award adjudication process, with younger contestants receiving extra points.

The prizes will be awarded in two categories:
regular – 6,500 € gross, a certificate and a medal
student – 2,000 € gross and a certificate.

Papers, in Croatian or English, must be submitted electronically under a passcode by June 1, 2025 at the latest. Only original and unpublished articles will be considered.

Apart from paying tribute to Professor Marijan Hanžeković’s memory, the Foundation's objective is to promote financial sciences and encourage scholars and experts, especially younger ones, to engage with this discipline.

Information about the Foundation, the terms and criteria of the competition, and the online application form are available on its website.
