Project description:
In order to enable civil society to analyse and influence the budget process and institutions, the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities from Washington (non-profit NGO which deals with budget analysis) launched the International Budget Project in 1997. In cooperation with civil and academic partners, an extensive questionnaire was prepared for measuring budget transparency.
Since 2006, researchers from numerous countries have been filling out the questionnaire (120 countries in the last round in 2021). The collected data is used to calculate the Open Budget Index. All questionnaires for Croatia were filled out by researchers from the Institute of Public Finance, and the results are described in the Institute's Press Releases:
