Our colleague Branko Stanić began a training program on October 1, 2024, at the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Murcia, Spain, following an invitation from the Department of Financial Economics and Accounting. The primary goal is to enhance his knowledge of research methods for measuring the efficiency of public services, with a particular focus on Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). During his time in Spain, he is collaborating with Professor Maria Dolores Guillamón López, as well as other esteemed colleagues, including Bernardino Benito and Ana-María Ríos.
Stanić remarked, "The experiences of our Spanish colleagues in this research area will aid in adopting new research approaches and tools. The exchange of knowledge will enable us to conduct comparative analyses of the efficiency of public services at the local government level in Croatia and Spain."
Colleague Stanić will be in training until November 4, 2024. He has also agreed with his Spanish counterparts to co-author research papers exploring the determinants of public service efficiency in local governments in both Croatia and Spain.
This training is part of the project Efficiency of public services at local government levels – definitions, measurements and analyses (EPS), funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan 2021-2026.
