The Institute of Public Finance gathered distinguished lecturers and researchers at the virtual conference Public Sector Economics dedicated to ageing and long-term care. They analysed the current state of long-term care around the world and provided new policy options for tackling the challenges that population ageing will bring to long-term care. Keynote lectures were given by Francesca Colombo (Head of the Health Division at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) and Joan Costa-i-Font (Professor at the London School of Economics and Political Science) while researchers from various fields of expertise – economics, finance, demographics, sociology, political science, government, law, health sciences – discussed related topics.

The importance of the conference theme has also been recognized by Dubravka Šuica, Vice-President for Democracy and Demography of the European Commission and by Croatian ministers – Marko Primorac, Minister of Finance and Marin Piletić, Minister of Labour, Pension System, Family and Social Policy, who gave introductory addresses at the conference.

Presentations and the conference recording are available at the conference website.
