The Prof. Dr. Marijan Hanžeković Trust awarded – for the 24th year in a row – the prize for the best academic articles on Thursday, December 7, 2023.

The regular award – 6,500 euros, medal and diploma – goes to Petar Sorić, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Zagreb, Department of Statistics, for the article "The Euro and Croatian inflation: much ado about nothing?".

The student award – 2,000 euros and diploma – goes to Enja Erker, a student from the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Ljubljana University, Slovenia, for the article "Forecasting medical inflation in the European Union using the ARIMA model". 

The committee for the annual 2023 award of the Prof. Dr. Marijan Hanžeković Trust:  Velibor Mačkić (Faculty of Economics and Business, Zagreb), Andrea Mervar (The Institute of Economics, Zagreb), Katarina Ott (Institute of Public Finance, Zagreb), Branko Stanić (Institute of Public Finance, Zagreb) and Tihana Škrinjarić (Bank of England, London). 

The awarded articles will be published in the journal Public Sector Economics.

The competition for 2024 is open and available at the website of the Trust.
