Our colleague Mihaela Bronić, as a Member of the Council of the Open Government Partnership Initiative for Croatia, participated from October 11 to 14, 2022 at the annual Open Government Partnership Europe Regional Meeting.

This meeting brought together open government stakeholders to energize their communities, raise collective ambition, and generate new political support to make governments more transparent, accountable and responsive to citizens, and to address current regional and global challenges. Key themes included anti-corruption, digital innovation, and democratic participation.

Open Government Partnership is a multilateral initiative that aims to ensure specific improvements in transparency and openness of public administration bodies; engagement and empowerment of citizens and civil society; fight against corruption; and use of new technologies for the improvement of service quality provided to the citizens by the public administration.

The author of this Initiative is the former President of the United States, Barack Obama, who announced its basic principles in his speech at the UN General Assembly in September 2010, which mainly relied on the Open Government Directive, one of the frames of its program.
