The Institute of Public Finance is organizing a virtual presentation on February 17, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 am (CET) based on an article published in Public Sector Economics.

Ana Marija Sikirić Simčić (Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Rijeka) will present results from an anonymous online survey showing the existence of a “care gap” in Croatia. The results confirm its presence and show that it disproportionately affects mothers, many of whom adjust their employment status during this period. The author calls for better alignment of parental leave and ECEC policies to promote gender equality and work-life balance.
