Approaches to integrate long-term unemployed persons

For: European Commission through DG for Employment, Social Affairs & Inclusion

Researcher: Predrag BejakoviŠ, PhD, Institute of Public Finance, Zagreb

The Project included participation in Peer Review on Approaches to integrate long-term unemployed persons, Berlin, 13-14 October 2016. This Peer Review provided the opportunity to analyse the new system of activation policies and integration of long-term unemployed in Germany. The event focused on how different measures can be used to fight long-term unemployment and the incentives used to enable job centres to focus on supporting the long-term unemployed.

This Peer Review was hosted by the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, Berlin. It also provided opportunities for exchange with other European countries to discuss how effective networks can be established locally and regionally in order to work with long-term unemployed persons and what forms of cooperation are being set up. All contributions, including Croatian titled Approaches to integrate long-term unemployed persons' - Peer Country Comments Paper: Croatia, are available on European Commission website.
