The Institute of Public Finance and the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung have organized an international scientific conference on Finance and Growth in Central and Eastern Europe which was held in Zagreb, April 29-30, 2010. The discussed topics have covered areas such as financial crises, banking sector efficiency, financial integration, and economic growth. Fourteen papers were presented at the conference, by authors arriving from various European universities and international institutions. Our special guest and invited lecturer, Professor Fabrizio Coricelli from University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (France), has presented his research on the implications of the global financial crisis for emerging European markets.

A thematic issue of the journal Financial Theory and Practice containing selected conference papers will be published later this year.

Institut za javne financije i Zaklada Friedrich Ebert održali su u Zagrebu 29. i 30. travnja 2010. godine međunarodnu znanstvenu konferenciju Finance and Growth in Central and Eastern Europe (Financije i rast u Središnjoj i Istočnoj Europi). Teme o kojima se raspravljalo pokrivale su područja poput financijskih kriza, učinkovitosti bankovnog sustava, financijskih integracija, te ekonomskog rasta. Na konferenciji je predstavljeno četrnaest radova, čiji autori dolaze s raznih europskih sveučilišta i iz međunarodnih institucija. Naš posebni gost i pozvani uvodničar konferencije, profesor Fabrizio Coricelli sa Sveučilišta Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (Francuska), održao je predavanje na temu implikacija globalne financijske krize za europska tržišta u nastajanju.

U pripremi je tematski broj časopisa Financial Theory and Practice koji će sadržavati odabrane radove s konferencije.
